Rosella, scientifically known as Hibiscus sabdariffa, is a species of hibiscus.   While many people recognize it for its striking red flowers, it is most famous for its calyces -the fleshy, bright red structures that cover the seed pods. These have a tart, cranberry-like flavor and are used worldwide to make "Rosella tea".
